Outreach

What is Outreach Librarianship? Good question.

For some guidance, I look to At Play in the Academic Library by Elizabeth Bowman, Outreach and Collection Development Librarian of Luria Library, Santa Barbara Community College (post date: October 4, 2012).

“Is that “outreach” or merely entertainment?  I believe that even entertainment can be outreach, and frankly we can’t know what will draw, hook, and gratify a student.  And once we have connected with them, we can help them succeed.”
